We responded to the Scottish Parliament’s Scottish Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee call for views on Scrutiny of Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO). The SPSO is the final stage for complaints about most public services in Scotland.
We shared our view that, based on the information that we receive from member of the public referrals to our Fitness to Teach process, there is limited understanding of the SPSO’s remit in relation to education services, with GTC Scotland often being confused as the oversight regulator.
