School Leadership Programme

The Moray Education (School) Leadership Programme (MELP) has been developed to address a particular need which has been identified in terms of succession to leadership posts. It will identify people who have further leadership potential and ensure that they get the appropriate development opportunities to prepare them for leadership roles in Moray Education in the future. The MELP has been designed to provide a tailored professional development opportunity for principal teachers who aspire to be deputy headteachers, and deputy headteachers. The programme utilises ‘Uplifting Leadership’ as the core text with other texts and experiences being woven in to take account of the differing leadership development needs of participants. The programme will also provide opportunities for participants on the Education Scotland PLL programmes for self-evaluation and development of self-awareness. The Moray Education (Schools) Management Programme (MEMP) runs in parallel with the MELP and includes the Moray Education SLT Induction Programme.
