GTC Scotland welcomes the Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee’s decision to gather more information about the handling of child safeguarding enquiries in education.
Since before 2017 we have raised issues about how the system works in this fundamental area.
We have called for better information sharing, and a strengthened national governance framework, to ensure roles in child protection and safeguarding in the education context are transparent, understood and enacted and that information is shared at the right time with those that need it, enabling every part of the system to play its part effectively.
